American rapper and singer Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, has initiated divorce proceedings from his wife, Bunnie Xo, also known as Alisa DeFord. The couple, married since 2016, have decided to end their marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences,” as per records from Williamson County, Tennessee court.
Jelly Roll, aged 41, is renowned for his country rock hits such as “Son of a Sinner” and “Need a Favor.” The couple, who renewed their vows in 2023, do not have children together. However, Jelly Roll has two children from previous relationships.
Bunnie Xo, aged 46, is the host of the Dumb Blonde Podcast, where she engages with guests from the music and entertainment sectors. She also operates a production company called Dumb Blonde Productions. Earlier this year, she released a memoir titled “Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic,” chronicling her journey from Vegas trailer parks to Nashville mansions.
Prior to achieving success in the country rock genre, Jelly Roll faced a tumultuous past, including a conviction for robbery at 17 and drug-related charges at 23. His interest in music and songwriting blossomed during his time behind bars.
Last year, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee granted Jelly Roll a pardon for his past criminal offenses following a recommendation from the state’s parole board. At the 2026 Grammy Awards, where Jelly Roll secured the best contemporary country album award for “Beautifully Broken,” he acknowledged his wife’s pivotal role in helping him overcome his previous struggles with drug addiction, stating, “I want to thank my beautiful wife — I would have never changed my life without you. I’d have ended up dead or in jail.”
Although Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo have not publicly addressed their divorce, recent social media updates from Jelly Roll focus on his weight loss journey, while Bunnie Xo shared a video of herself lip-syncing to Nickelback’s “How You Remind Me.”
