A 66-year-old woman was discovered deceased in her residence on Hudson Avenue in Montreal West on Sunday. Montreal firefighters, conducting welfare checks due to recent power outages in the vicinity, located the woman unresponsive at approximately 6 p.m. The weather conditions at the time were quite frigid, with temperatures around -18 C and the wind exacerbating the chill.
Upon arrival, emergency responders confirmed the woman’s passing. Montreal police were summoned to the scene and after investigation, concluded that there was no indication of foul play.
The exact circumstances surrounding the woman’s demise remain unclear, including whether the severe cold and power disruptions from the weekend were contributing factors. An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.
