A new television judge is stepping onto the scene to uphold justice, and he has quite the legacy to live up to. CBS Media Ventures unveiled a preview on Thursday for “Adam’s Law,” a fresh daytime courtroom series featuring Adam Levy, the 58-year-old son of the esteemed Judge Judy.
Fans of Judge Judy’s renowned sharp wit, no-nonsense attitude, and fiery demeanor are in for a treat. In the trailer, Levy showcases a similar courtroom energy, delivering quick-witted and incisive remarks from the bench that would surely make his mother, Judith Sheindlin, proud.
Interestingly, Sheindlin initially had reservations about passing on the judicial baton to her son. In the preview, she humorously confesses that she wouldn’t have encouraged him to take on the show years ago because she wasn’t ready to relinquish her position. Sheindlin also jokingly admits that she believes Levy has the talent to outshine her, which she finds unsettling.
The upcoming series, which is produced by Sheindlin herself, is scheduled to debut on September 14. This launch comes after the conclusion of the original “Judge Judy” show, which enjoyed a successful 25-season run on CBS, captivating audiences with an average of 10 million viewers per episode.
Levy, with over 25 years of legal expertise, including serving as a district attorney in New York’s Putnam County, is poised to bring a commitment to truth and justice to “Adam’s Law.” He emphasizes the importance of honesty for litigants appearing on the show, expressing his disdain for false statements.
Sheindlin has full confidence in her son’s ability to carry on the family legacy and predicts that his show will dominate daytime television. She praises Levy’s engaging personality, legal acumen, and remarkable memory, stating that he possesses the qualities to captivate audiences just like she has for three decades.
Levy is no stranger to courtroom reality TV, having previously presided as a judge on shows like “Tribunal Justice” and “Justice on Trial” on Prime Video. “Adam’s Law” is slated to air on various CBS-owned stations across the U.S., including CBS LA and WCBS-TV, and will also be broadcast in Canada, though the exact start date there is yet to be confirmed.
