“New Open-Air Amphitheatre Coming to Cavendish Beach”

Whitecap Entertainment’s CEO, Ben Murphy, has revealed plans for a new performance venue at the Cavendish Beach Events Centre grounds. The proposed multi-level, open-air amphitheatre is expected to accommodate 1,500 attendees and aims to fill a gap in Cavendish’s current offerings.

While specific design details are still being finalized, Murphy envisions a versatile wooden structure that can operate year-round, aligning with Cavendish’s strategic goal of maximizing the festival grounds’ potential. This initiative is seen as a multifaceted solution that caters to various needs within the community.

The envisioned performance space will function as an additional stage on the festival grounds, representing a long-desired enhancement for Whitecap Entertainment. Murphy emphasized the benefits of prior investments in infrastructure, enhancing the overall visitor experience.

Anticipated to be completed by the 2026 festival season, with programming set to commence in 2027, the new venue is poised to offer a diverse range of events beyond music performances, including comedy shows, theater productions, and community gatherings. Murphy envisions the amphitheatre as a significant landmark that will enrich the cultural fabric of Cavendish and Prince Edward Island.

Furthermore, Murphy envisions the venue contributing to the region throughout different seasons, providing more entertainment options for visitors. Emphasizing the growing importance of live events, Murphy believes that creating dedicated spaces for such experiences is crucial for future engagement and enjoyment.
