Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro has alerted residents on the island to a power warning for Saturday morning, urging them to conserve electricity wherever feasible. The power warning will be in effect starting at 6 a.m. NT, as announced in a news release on Friday night. This caution is issued when the electricity grid approaches its maximum capacity, prompting residents to prepare for possible rotating power outages.
To assist in conservation efforts, the company recommends actions such as turning off unnecessary lights, reducing hot water usage, and adjusting the heating down slightly. This marks the second power warning issued by N.L. Hydro this week, following a power watch implemented for Bay d’Espoir on Thursday.
