“Milan Cortina Olympic Schedule Adjusted Due to Weather”

Poor weather conditions have caused the Milan Cortina Olympic organizers to adjust the schedule in Livigno once again. The men’s freestyle skiing aerials qualifying, initially set for Tuesday and rescheduled for Thursday, along with the final, will now both occur on Friday at the Livigno Aerials and Moguls Park. Qualifying is set to commence at 10:30 a.m., with the final following at 1:30 p.m.

Additionally, the men’s free ski halfpipe qualifying at Livigno Snow Park, originally planned for 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, was postponed. However, the women’s qualifying is still on schedule, with hopes that the weather will clear by the planned 7:30 p.m. start time.

No new time has been announced for the men’s halfpipe qualifying. As per the original schedule, the men’s halfpipe final is slated for Friday, followed by the women’s final on Saturday. Men’s and women’s freestyle ski cross events are also scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Livigno Snow Park.

The adverse weather conditions, including heavy snow and poor visibility, have disrupted the final week of the Livigno Games, situated in the Italian Alps near the Swiss border. Previously, the weather had been mostly cooperative.

The weather-related disruptions began with the threat of bad weather on Monday, prompting organizers to move up the snowboard slopestyle qualifying by a day. The women’s free ski big air final was delayed on Monday evening due to a snowstorm, starting 75 minutes late, with Canadian Megan Oldham clinching the gold medal.

Subsequently, poor weather on Tuesday led to the delay of the women’s slopestyle final and both men’s and women’s freestyle aerials qualification. The women’s aerials qualifying and final were eventually held on Wednesday, while the slopestyle finals took place on Thursday. The men’s freestyle aerials competition was also rescheduled to Thursday due to heavy snow, poor visibility, and the inability of the air ambulance to operate in those conditions.
