Lost Creek Resort, situated in Waskesiu, Saskatchewan, has changed ownership recently. The former owner of the rental cabins within Prince Albert National Park, Gord Bueckert, sold the property on January 1 to two Saskatchewan property entities, Globex Management Corp. and Remai Property Group Inc. Lynn Flury, the director of Globex Management Corp., expressed a commitment to expanding the property’s occupancy and revenues, following the previous owner’s vision of growth from five to 20 cottages.
Having managed the resort for the past three years, Globex ensured a seamless transition for guests during the ownership change. The decision to sell came as Bueckert was ready to retire, providing an opportunity for the companies to enhance their resort property portfolio. In addition to Lost Creek Resort, Globex and its partners acquired the Hawood Inn in Waskesiu back in June 2024.
Waskesiu Chamber of Commerce president, Chris Astle, acknowledged Bueckert’s contribution as a valued member and welcomed the sale, emphasizing the positive community partnership with Globex. While the sale price remains undisclosed, the property was previously listed for $3,749,000 on realtor.ca. Positioned near the Waskesiu townsite on the main highway, the resort is approximately 2 kilometers from the main beach.
Serving short-term stays in one- to three-bedroom cabins year-round, the resort assures customers that the current staffing and services will continue unchanged. Globex’s diverse property holdings also include the Country Inn and Suites in Saskatoon, the Travelodge Suites by Wyndham Regina Eastgate, Temple Gardens Hotel and Spa, Travelodge Hotel Saskatoon, Candle Lake Golf Resort, and the Superior Inn and Conference Centre in Thunder Bay.
Remai Property Group, a family-owned real estate and hospitality management company based in Saskatoon, has joined forces with Globex in this venture. Both companies see significant growth opportunities in the region, aligning with their strategic expansion plans.
