Selena Gomez, a well-known singer and actor, is facing a lawsuit from investors who allege that she engaged in fraudulent activities by failing to fulfill her obligations to develop and promote her mental health startup.
Investors had put in approximately $1.2 million in Wondermind Global, a startup launched in 2021 with the aim of enhancing users’ mental fitness. The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Delaware, claims that Gomez, a prominent figure in social media with over 500 million followers, had promised to actively participate in the company’s marketing efforts. However, the investors argue that Gomez and other company executives did not follow through on their commitments, such as the creation of a mobile app.
According to the lawsuit, Gomez allegedly signed a contract but did not honor it, leading to the failure of the venture. The plaintiffs assert that the company did not meet its basic obligations, including timely payment to employees and vendors, and lacked a viable business plan.
A spokesperson for Gomez has yet to respond to the allegations made in the lawsuit. The investors claim that they were unaware of the company’s issues until a news report surfaced in September 2025, prompting them to seek the return of their investments along with legal fees.
