“Witnesses Testify Against Daniel Bard in Financial Crimes Trial”

During the financial crimes trial of Daniel Bard on Wednesday, witness Etienne Haché shared his frustration with the court. Haché recounted how his family’s business paid Bard over $100,000 for a project loan, which was never returned. Bard faces 19 charges, including fraud and money laundering, with some allegations stemming from his time at 3+ Corporation in Moncton.

Haché explained that in 2019, he and his father sought financial assistance from Bard to advance their medical cannabis project. Despite initial positive impressions, Bard failed to meet timelines and communication dwindled, leaving the Haché family in distress.

When questioned about the lack of repayment, Haché revealed that Bard had promised to return the money if the loan fell through, but as of 2026, no funds have been recovered. Witness testimonies, including that of Luc Bernard, echoed similar experiences of financial loss and unfulfilled promises by Bard.

As the trial continues, the prosecution and defense delve into the details of the agreements made between Bard and the victims, highlighting the absence of formal contracts and the rushed nature of transactions. Despite the challenges faced by the witnesses, they remain resolute in seeking justice and holding Bard accountable for his actions.
