A tragic incident occurred in Renfrew County over the weekend resulting in the death of a five-year-old child who was involved in an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) crash, according to the Ontario Provincial Police. The incident took place on a private property in the Brudenell, Lyndoch, and Raglan township on Saturday morning, as reported by OPP on Monday.
Upon receiving the call, emergency services rushed to the scene where they discovered the child, who was wearing a helmet, had been driving the ATV alone and collided with a tree. The child was immediately transported by ambulance to a local hospital and later airlifted to a regional trauma center, where they unfortunately succumbed to their injuries, as stated in the official release.
Specific details regarding the child’s gender or additional information were not disclosed by the OPP in the release. A post-mortem examination has been planned, and an investigation into the incident is currently in progress.
