“Loblaw Revives Frozen Juice Line, No Name Brand Returns”

Loblaw, one of the largest retailers in Canada, is set to reintroduce frozen juice under its popular No Name brand, bringing back a range of concentrated drinks to Canadian kitchens. The new lineup will include White Lemonade, Pink Lemonade, Limeade, Grape Punch, Fruit Punch, and Berry Punch, with an expected arrival before the end of June. This move follows Coca-Cola discontinuing its Minute Maid frozen juice line, leaving Loblaw to fill the gap in the market.

Despite the absence of Canadian suppliers for frozen juice concentrate, Loblaw has sourced alternatives to meet the strong demand from customers. Frozen juice from concentrate, which dates back over 80 years, had seen a decline in popularity over the years due to changing consumer preferences. Loblaw plans to offer the new products at varying prices within its chain of stores, including Loblaws, Real Canadian Superstore, No Frills, and Shoppers Drug Mart, with an estimated starting price of around $2.25 for 283 milliliters.

While Loblaw is gearing up to launch its No Name frozen juice, other retailers like Metro are also considering introducing their own versions of frozen concentrate in the near future. Additionally, there are hints of a potential Canadian producer re-entering the market, which could provide relief to consumers, especially in Newfoundland where frozen juice is a key ingredient in the popular holiday cocktail known as “slush.”
