“Fashion World Honors Valentino: Iconic Designer Laid to Rest”

Global fashion icons gathered alongside the general public on Friday to bid farewell to the legendary designer Valentino at his funeral service in Rome, held at the central Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri. The funeral served as the final tribute to the renowned designer following a two-day public viewing at the Valentino Foundation’s headquarters in Rome earlier in the week.

Notable figures from the fashion industry, including Tom Ford, Donatella Versace, and Anna Wintour, as well as Hollywood celebrities like Anne Hathaway, were in attendance at the funeral service. Fans and supporters also congregated outside the church, some wearing red attire or accessories in honor of Valentino’s signature color.

Valentino Garavani, who passed away at the age of 93 at his residence in Rome, was beloved by royalty, first ladies, and celebrities such as Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Queen Rania of Jordan, and Julia Roberts. Throughout his career, Valentino maintained his atelier in Rome while showcasing his collections mainly in Paris.

During the public viewing, hundreds of individuals paid their respects to the esteemed Italian designer, known as the “last emperor” of Italian fashion. Valentino’s exquisite gowns have graced numerous Academy Awards ceremonies, with celebrities like Julia Roberts and Cate Blanchett donning his creations on the prestigious red carpet.

In a heartfelt tribute, Giancarlo Giammetti, Valentino’s long-time partner, expressed gratitude to the designer for imparting a sense of beauty in their lives. Giammetti reminisced about their shared dreams and achievements over the years, emphasizing that their journey together will endure.

The fashion world bids a poignant farewell to Valentino, a masterful designer whose legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
