Elizabeth Lemley from the United States clinched the gold medal in the women’s moguls event at the Milano-Cortina Winter Games in a surprising turn of events during the final round. The defending Olympic champion, Jakara Anthony of Australia, had a mishap on her descent, causing her to finish in last place among the eight contenders.
Jaelin Kauf of the United States secured the silver medal with a score of 80.77, while Perrine Laffont of France claimed the bronze with a score of 78.00. Maïa Schwinghammer from Canada, hailing from Saskatoon, achieved a score of 77.61, landing her in fifth place.
Unfortunately, Canadian participants Laurianne Desmarais-Gilbert, Jessica Linton from Vancouver, and Ashley Koehler from Lac-Beauport, Quebec, did not progress to the medal round.
