“Deadly Shooting in Abbotsford Linked to Gang Conflict”

Abbotsford police have stated that a deadly shooting that occurred in a residential area on Friday is linked to the ongoing gang conflict in British Columbia. The incident took place in the 3200-block of Siskin Drive, with authorities confirming that it was not connected to extortion and that there is no additional threat to the public.

Sgt. Paul Walker from the Abbotsford Police Department informed the media that officers were alerted to gunfire at approximately 12:30 p.m. PT on Friday, with the shooting confined to a single property on Siskin Drive. Walker noted that the individual involved is a known figure to law enforcement and has ties to the B.C. gang conflict. The investigation is now being handed over to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.

Following the shooting, Siskin Drive was temporarily closed between Sandpiper Drive and Stellar Court. Sgt. Walker expressed the community’s distress over the incident, highlighting how such events disrupt the neighborhood’s peace and residents’ sense of security.

Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the shooting or possesses relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to reach out to the police. Police officers were present at the scene, seeking any potential footage that could aid in the investigation.
