“B.C. Officers Rescue Bear With Stove Pipe Stuck on Head”

A bear with a stove pipe stuck on its head was rescued by B.C. Conservation Officers in Oliver after residents reported sightings of the animal in distress. Curtis Pirie, who first spotted the bear in an orchard, attempted to remove the pipe with a neighbor before the officers arrived. The bear was tranquilized and safely brought down from a tree before the pipe was removed. The officers mentioned that the bear had been spotted in the area for about 10 days, showing signs of distress and thinness. Despite this, the bear was deemed healthy enough for relocation back into the woods. The incident serves as a reminder to keep attractants away and report wildlife in distress promptly.
