“Alaska Highway Closed Near Yukon for Police Investigation”

RCMP officials in Yukon have announced the closure of the Alaska Highway in both directions near the McClintock River bridge and North McClintock Road, situated south of Whitehorse. A recent news release issued before 2 p.m. on Tuesday urged individuals to steer clear of the affected area. The authorities have implemented traffic diversions at Jake’s Corner and the Carcross cut-off, guiding motorists to utilize the South Klondike Highway and Tagish Road as alternative routes.

The news release cited “police activity and an investigation” as the reasons for the closure, without divulging further specifics. An update provided later on Tuesday afternoon indicated that the detour is anticipated to remain in effect until sometime on Wednesday.
