Canada’s Arnaud Gaudet secured the bronze medal in a World Cup men’s parallel grand slalom snowboard competition on Saturday. Hailing from Montcalm, Que., Gaudet triumphed over Slovenia’s Tim Mastnak in the small final, earning his second medal of the season. Prior to the Milano Cortina Olympics, he clinched silver at an event in Bulgaria.
In the big final, Italy’s Maurizio Bormolini emerged victorious by defeating South Korea’s Lee Sang-ho and overcoming Gaudet in the semifinals. Meanwhile, in the women’s category, Japan’s Miki Tsubaki outperformed Czechia’s Zuzana Maderova in the gold medal match, with Ramona Theresia Hofmeister securing the bronze.
Representing Canada, Kaylie Buck from Oakville, Ont., made a commendable advancement to the quarterfinals.
