“Grocery Store Reopens After Freezer Fire”

After a fire broke out in a freezer unit at a grocery store in Grand Falls-Windsor, the shop has now reopened for business. According to town communications officer Robyn Winsor, the fire department was alerted to the incident at the local Dominion at 5:58 p.m. NT on Saturday. Captain Mike Mackey of the Grand Falls-Windsor Fire Department reported that firefighters quickly responded and located the fire in the freezer unit at the back of the store. As a precautionary measure, Mackey ordered a full evacuation of the store, but fortunately, there were no injuries and minimal damage was sustained. Fire crews successfully extinguished the fire, allowing the store to resume operations at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday. While the cause of the fire is still being investigated, initial indications suggest an electrical origin. Loblaws has not provided any immediate comments on the incident.
