“Today Show Host Pleads for Proof of Missing Mother’s Safety”

NBC’s Savannah Guthrie, a co-host of the Today show, along with her siblings, made a heartfelt public plea on social media on Wednesday regarding their missing mother, Nancy Guthrie. Various media outlets received ransom notes on Tuesday, which were promptly given to authorities for investigation.

In a video message, Savannah Guthrie expressed concerns about the authenticity of the reported ransom letter, emphasizing the need for concrete proof of her mother’s well-being. She urged the potential captors to reach out and confirm Nancy’s safety directly.

The Pima County sheriff’s department in Arizona acknowledged the ransom notes and other leads but refrained from providing further details. Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen on Saturday evening when she was dropped off at her Tucson home after dinner with family. Her absence was noted on Sunday when she failed to attend church services.

Sheriff Chris Nanos’s office disclosed that they were interviewing individuals who had contact with Nancy over the weekend but had yet to identify any suspects or persons of interest. Investigators confirmed the presence of Nancy Guthrie’s DNA from blood samples at her residence but remained without a lead on the perpetrator.

Authorities have returned Nancy Guthrie’s residence to her family, noting signs of forced entry at the location. Given Nancy’s physical limitations, officials ruled out the possibility of her leaving the house voluntarily. Reports indicated that she has underlying health issues, including high blood pressure, a pacemaker, and heart conditions.

The Guthrie family continues to await updates on Nancy’s whereabouts, hoping for her safe return.
