Expressing her pride, Homan stated, “I’m so incredibly proud of the team and how we fought to get this bronze medal.” The game saw a close first half, but Homan’s team took charge with three-point scores in the sixth and eighth ends. Despite a tight battle, Canada managed to hold onto a one-point lead in the 10th end, preventing the U.S. from forcing an extra end.
This achievement marks Canada’s return to the Olympic podium in women’s curling since Jennifer Jones clinched gold at the 2014 Sochi Games. Homan, who missed the playoffs in her previous Olympic appearances, showcased resilience and determination throughout the competition.
In another remarkable victory for Canada, the men’s curling team, led by Brad Jacobs, claimed gold by defeating Great Britain’s Bruce Mouat 9-6. The success of both Canadian teams highlights their strength and skill in the sport.
