During the Olympics, Boudreault gained popularity across Canada, but his fame was short-lived as he later became involved in outlaw motorcycle gangs, accumulating several convictions for violent offenses. Sadly, he passed away at the age of 50.

Appoloni fondly remembered his interactions with Boudreault, including a humorous exchange about competitive paraboxing before Boudreault’s passing. The coach reflected on Boudreault’s journey from Olympic glory to a life marked by criminal activities, highlighting the complexities of his legacy.
