Dawson Creek RCMP has announced that three men have been charged with first-degree murder in connection to a homicide in the northern B.C. town in 2023. Tanner Allan Murray, 31, Robert James Sinclair, 34, and Benjamin James Elliot Touchette, 36, are facing charges in the death of Robert Eric Douglas Girbav, as revealed in a police statement on Sunday. The trio was already detained in B.C. and Alberta for separate issues.
Girbav was discovered deceased in a red Dodge Calibre in Dawson Creek on December 31, 2023. Authorities stated that the accused individuals and Girbav were acquainted. This incident was among several unsolved murders in the area.
Supt. Sanjaya Wijayakoon of the B.C. RCMP major crime unit expressed condolences for the loss of Mr. Girbav, acknowledging its impact on the community’s concerns about crime and violence in the Dawson Creek region.
