Drake Plans Exclusive Apology Party for Janices Following Controversial Song
Drake is extending an olive branch to those named Janice who may have felt offended by his song “Janice STFU.” The Toronto rapper’s representatives have announced an exclusive event specifically for individuals named Janice, with invitations sent out to various cities including New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Toronto, and Houston.
In an Instagram post, Drake teased the upcoming event and shared that physical invitations had been dispatched to Janices in Toronto as a formal gesture of apology. Those named Janice who did not receive an invitation can still RSVP by contacting JSTFU@DRAKERELATED.COM, provided they can prove their legal first name with government-issued photo ID.
The controversial song “Janice STFU” is part of Drake’s album “ICEMAN,” which has achieved significant success, debuting at No.1 on the Billboard Global 200 and the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 charts. This accomplishment marks Drake’s 14th chart-topping hit, surpassing Michael Jackson’s record for the most No.1 hits by a male solo artist.
Drake’s triple-album release, which included “ICEMAN,” “Habibti,” and “Maid of Honour,” made a profound impact on the music charts, with 42 songs from the albums charting on the Hot 100. The party for Janices in Toronto is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 28, at the Cactus Club on Adelaide St.
