One individual has passed away after a collision involving two vehicles in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, as per law enforcement officials. The incident occurred at around 6:45 a.m. Eastern Time when officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service rushed to the scene at Portage Road near Stanley Avenue where the two vehicles collided head-on.
Following the collision, one of the drivers was found unresponsive, as mentioned in a news release issued later in the day by the police. Emergency medical services from Niagara initiated life-saving procedures, but unfortunately, the driver was pronounced dead at the location. The police indicated that initial reports suggest the deceased driver may have experienced a medical emergency while driving.
The second driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, as confirmed by the authorities. Individuals with any relevant details about the incident are urged to reach out to the Niagara police service.
