A 35-year-old woman who was arrested in connection with a series of stabbing incidents in Vancouver’s Yaletown area last October has pleaded guilty to all charges against her. Tamara Hamelin was taken into custody on Oct. 10 after three individuals were hospitalized with non-life-threatening wounds. Subsequently, four more victims emerged, comprising another stabbing victim, a person who was allegedly physically assaulted, and two others who escaped physical harm.
The victims, consisting of five men and two women aged between 23 and 59, were assaulted near David Lam Park on the Yaletown portion of Vancouver’s seawall. The assaults, described as violent and unprovoked by the authorities at the time, were deemed highly concerning.
Hamelin faced charges of four counts of assault with a weapon and two counts of assault. She admitted guilt to all charges at Vancouver’s Downtown Community Court on Dec. 16 and is currently in custody, as confirmed by the B.C. Prosecution Service to CBC News. A sentencing date has been scheduled for March 31, according to official court records.
