Senators Condemn False Claims About Goalie Ullmark

The Ottawa Senators are addressing unfounded and untrue claims circulating online regarding goaltender Linus Ullmark and his recent absence from the team. Ullmark, aged 32, has been on leave since late December for personal reasons, with the team expressing their full support for the Swedish player. Despite not disclosing specific details, the Senators released a strongly worded statement denouncing the baseless rumors prior to a game in Colorado.

In the statement attributed to general manager and president of hockey operations Steve Staios, the organization expressed disappointment over the fabricated stories circulating on social media and condemned those individuals spreading false information. The team emphasized the importance of respecting Ullmark’s privacy and expressed disgust towards external influences attempting to disrupt the team with unwarranted speculation. The statement aimed to quash the groundless rumors that had been proliferating online.

Additionally, Senators players, including captain Brady Tkachuk, publicly voiced their support for Ullmark following the team’s initial announcement. As of now, the team has not provided a specific timeframe for Ullmark’s return to the lineup.
