“Report Reveals Fatal Plane Crash Caused by Sharp Turn and Stall”

A recent investigation on a tragic plane crash at the border of Saskatchewan and Alberta revealed that the aircraft sharply turned, stalled, and crashed in a matter of seconds. The Transportation Safety Board’s report detailed that a Cessna departing from Kindersley, Saskatchewan, in September 2024, was en route to the Lloydminster area for power line inspections.

The flight crew, comprising a pilot and an observer, was capturing photos with the observer as the pilot navigated the plane. During the flight, the pilot descended to as low as 60 meters above the ground and abruptly veered off course to rejoin the designated flight path, leading to the crash.

The report highlighted that the stall occurred at a height that made it challenging for the pilot to recover control, emphasizing the need for caution at such altitudes. Tragically, the pilot lost his life in the crash, while the observer succumbed to injuries three days later in a hospital.

The report, issued on Tuesday, emphasized the importance of caution during steep turns at low altitudes, noting the potential difficulty in recovering from a stall. It also mentioned that KBM Forestry Consultants Inc., the employer of the crew members, has implemented updated safety protocols and increased flight-time requirements for pilots.
