“Megan Thee Stallion Hospitalized During Broadway Debut”

Megan Thee Stallion was taken to the hospital after experiencing severe illness while performing in the Broadway production of Moulin Rouge! The Musical. She later shared on social media that she had been overexerting herself recently.

According to a spokesperson, the singer started feeling unwell during Tuesday’s show, leading to an understudy taking over. Medical professionals determined that extreme exhaustion, dehydration, vasoconstriction, and low metabolic levels were the reasons for her condition. Megan Thee Stallion was discharged from the hospital and advised to rest.

The Grammy-winning rapper announced on Instagram that she would be taking a break from Wednesday’s performances to recuperate. She reassured her fans that she would return to the stage on Thursday feeling rejuvenated and prepared to give her best performance.

Reflecting on her health scare, Megan Thee Stallion admitted to pushing herself beyond her limits and running on empty. She expressed fear of fainting onstage and acknowledged the importance of listening to her body’s signals.

Making her Broadway debut as nightclub owner Harold Zidler in Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Megan Thee Stallion was scheduled to conclude her eight-week stint on May 17. She is the first female artist to portray the MC role in a professional production of the musical worldwide.

In a previous statement, the singer mentioned her excitement about exploring new creative avenues through theater. She expressed readiness for the challenges of Broadway and anticipated showing her fans a different side of her talent.

Similar to other musicians, Megan Thee Stallion’s hospitalization for exhaustion recalls instances such as Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley’s 2016 hospitalization, Justin Bieber’s 2013 backstage collapse in London, and Mariah Carey’s 2001 hospitalization for extreme exhaustion due to a hectic schedule.

Moulin Rouge! The Musical is set to end its seven-year run on July 26. The production, based on a Parisian nightclub’s happenings in the early 1900s, features modern hits like Single Ladies and Firework alongside the classic tune Lady Marmalade.
