Canadian freestyle skier Marion Thénault secured a silver medal at a World Cup aerials event held on home soil. Thénault claimed second place in the women’s competition, achieving a score of 81.78 points. The event was dominated by American Winter Vinecki with an impressive score of 93.58, while Emma Weiss from Germany secured the third spot with 79.33 points.
Hailing from Sherbrooke, located approximately 250 kilometers south of Lac-Beauport, Thénault clinched her fourth medal of the World Cup season, consisting of two silver and two bronze medals. Notably, she was the sole Canadian athlete to advance to the women’s final round.
In the men’s competition, Ukraine’s Dmytro Kotovskyi emerged victorious, followed by Sun Jiaxu from China and Quinn Dehlinger representing the United States. The top Canadian performer in the men’s event was Miha Fontaine, finishing in eighth place.
