Former federal justice minister, Jody Wilson-Raybould, announced on social media that she will commence treatment for breast cancer following a recent surgical procedure. Wilson-Raybould expressed gratitude towards her surgeons and the B.C. Cancer Agency for their care, stating that while the journey ahead is daunting, she finds strength in the resilience and healing stories shared with her by many individuals over the years.
Encouraging others to prioritize their health, Wilson-Raybould emphasized the importance of regular mammograms and screenings for various cancers and illnesses. Having served in former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal cabinet for three years before resigning and later being re-elected as an Independent in 2019, Wilson-Raybould remains committed to raising awareness about cancer detection and treatment.
