“Inuvik Business Fire Injures Two Workers”

Two individuals were harmed during a fire incident at a business establishment in Inuvik, N.W.T., on Wednesday. The Inuvik Fire Department promptly responded to a structural fire at an industrial business located on Airport Road shortly after 4 p.m. Firefighters successfully contained the fire within thirty minutes despite facing extreme cold weather conditions with temperatures below -40°C.

The individuals who sustained injuries were identified as employees of the business. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with no suspicion of criminal activity reported by the fire department. Mayor Peter Clarkson of Inuvik mentioned that the injured workers, affiliated with Northwind Industries, received treatment at the local hospital.

Clarkson commended the swift response of the firefighters, highlighting their efficiency in preventing the fire from spreading to the main building. He noted that upon the fire department’s arrival, Northwind staff had already sought medical attention at the hospital for evaluation. The firefighting efforts were deemed successful in containing and managing the situation effectively.
