“Canadian Para Nordic Ski Team Unveiled for Milan Cortina Paralympics”

Decorated Canadian skiers Mark Arendz and Natalie Wilkie will lead the Para nordic ski team from Canada at the upcoming Milan Cortina Paralympic Games. The team of 15 skiers, set to compete at the Tesero Cross-Country Skiing Stadium in Fiemme Valley, was unveiled in Calgary on Friday. The Paralympic Games are scheduled to take place from March 6 to 15 following the conclusion of the Olympic Games in Italy.

Hailing from Hartsville, P.E.I., Arendz has amassed a collection of twelve Paralympic medals across both cross-country skiing and biathlon, including two gold medals, and is gearing up for his fifth appearance at the Winter Games. Meanwhile, Wilkie, representing Salmon Arm, B.C., is a three-time Paralympic champion with a total of seven medals to her name as she prepares for her third Paralympics.

The Canadian Para nordic skiing team achieved notable success in recent years, securing 14 medals in Beijing in 2022 and a record-breaking 16 medals in 2018 in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
