Abigail Strate Secures Bronze in World Cup Ski Jumping

Canadian skier Abigail Strate secured a bronze medal in the World Cup women’s ski jumping event held on Wednesday, scoring 222.3 points on the normal hill. This marks her fourth World Cup medal this season, including one gold, two silver, and the recent bronze.

Abigail had previously clinched three medals in the large hill event, which is making its debut at the upcoming Milano-Cortina Winter Games. Lisa Eder from Austria and Nika Prevc from Slovakia claimed the top two spots ahead of Strate in the competition.

Reflecting on her performance, Strate expressed satisfaction, particularly highlighting her qualifying jump after a break from competitions. The Calgary native mentioned her enjoyment of the event and is eagerly anticipating the upcoming competitions.

At 24 years old, Abigail Strate is gearing up for her second Olympic appearance scheduled for February in Italy. In the 2022 Games, she placed 23rd in the individual normal hill event and secured a bronze medal in the mixed team event.
