“Jesse Minter Named New Head Coach of Baltimore Ravens”

Jesse Minter has been appointed as the new head coach for the Baltimore Ravens, returning to the team where he previously worked under John Harbaugh’s coaching staff. Minter, who most recently served as the defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Chargers, steps into the role after Harbaugh’s departure following the Ravens’ failure to secure a playoff spot after 18 years.

Having previously spent four seasons with the Ravens from 2017 to 2020, Minter progressed from a defensive assistant to the defensive backs coach before moving on to Vanderbilt as the defensive coordinator. Minter, aged 42, emerged as a highly sought-after candidate in the coaching market, engaging in virtual interviews with various teams, including the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ultimately, he landed the head coaching position in Baltimore with the responsibility of guiding star quarterback Lamar Jackson to further success, especially in overcoming postseason challenges.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Minter stated, “This is an organization whose values, culture, and tradition of excellence reflect everything I believe about the game of football and how it should be played.” With a solid coaching background that includes stints with the Chargers and the University of Michigan, Minter’s affiliation with the Harbaugh coaching lineage positioned him as the ideal candidate to take over as the Ravens’ fourth head coach in their 31-year history.

Ravens’ General Manager Eric DeCosta praised Minter’s leadership qualities and football acumen, emphasizing his strong familial ties to football success across different levels. Minter’s coaching track record, highlighted by his impactful roles with the Chargers and Wolverines, aligns well with the Ravens’ vision for the future.

Minter’s return to Baltimore comes at a critical juncture for the team, following a challenging 2025 season marred by injuries and a late-season divisional loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The departure of John Harbaugh, who swiftly found a new coaching position with the New York Giants, paved the way for Minter to step into the leadership role with a focus on revitalizing the Ravens’ performance.

In a separate development, Robert Saleh has been appointed as the head coach of the Tennessee Titans, signing a five-year contract to lead the team through a rebuilding phase after consecutive disappointing seasons. Saleh, known for his coaching tenure with the New York Jets and the San Francisco 49ers, brings a wealth of experience to the Titans, who are seeking a resurgence under his guidance. With a talented young quarterback in Cam Ward, the Titans aim to leverage Saleh’s leadership to establish a culture of sustainable success within the franchise.
