“Chrysler Minivans Thrive in Canadian Market Surge”

Windsor faced challenges this year, but it was a prosperous period for minivans produced in Canada’s automotive hub. Stellantis, the global automaker, disclosed its 2025 data on Monday, revealing a notable surge in Canadian sales for Chrysler’s Pacifica and Grand Caravan compared to the previous year.

The Grand Caravan experienced a 30% increase in sales year-over-year, while the Pacifica saw a remarkable 95% spike, contributing to substantial growth for the Chrysler brand. Despite this positive performance, Stellantis encountered a 12% decline in overall sales in Canada as it strives to regain its position in the North American market.

Trevor Longley, the President for Canada at Stellantis North America, emphasized the company’s century of operation in Canada in 2025 and expressed optimism for a robust 2026. He highlighted the continuous market momentum and slight market share gains, anticipating further growth with the introduction of new exciting products.

Among these products is a new gas-powered Dodge Charger manufactured alongside the minivans in Windsor. This launch follows the lackluster reception of electric versions of the iconic muscle car, although a battery-powered Charger model will still be available. The company confirmed selling fewer than 1,000 units of the latest generation Charger, including both the Dodge Charger Daytona EVs and gas-powered SIXPACK models.

While the Daytona EVs primarily contributed to the 2025 sales figures, the gas-powered SIXPACK only commenced production last month. Local dealerships have reported increased customer interest in the SIXPACK models compared to the Daytona EVs, indicating a potential shift in consumer preference.
