Kingston Police are urging the public to avoid contact with two individuals suspected of being involved in the recent murder of a man. Three individuals have been formally charged with second-degree murder following the fatal assault of 34-year-old Jayme Syring at a residence on Princess Street near Gardiners Road on December 30. Syring passed away in the hospital as a result of the attack.
Initially, Angelo Oliviera, 51, was apprehended by authorities on New Year’s Day in connection with the ongoing investigation. Subsequent court proceedings revealed that Oliviera, along with Mike Barry, 59, and Jesse Hanrahan, 32, have all been charged with second-degree murder. All three suspects are residents of Kingston.
In a press release issued on Monday evening, Kingston Police disclosed that Barry and Hanrahan are currently at large and are being sought by law enforcement. The public is advised not to approach these individuals if spotted and to promptly contact 9-1-1. The police release included photographs of Barry and Hanrahan for identification purposes.
Additionally, individuals can provide tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers, as mentioned by the authorities. A spokesperson from Kingston Police mentioned on Tuesday that initial efforts to locate Barry and Hanrahan were conducted discreetly to avoid alerting the suspects. Investigators believe the murder to be an isolated incident. However, upon unsuccessful attempts to locate the wanted individuals, the police decided to seek assistance from the public in hopes of obtaining valuable information.
