This marked Desbiens’ third career PWHL shutout. Nicole Gosling netted the lone goal for Montreal (4-2-0-4, 16 points), finding the back of the net at 12:17 of the second period for her first goal of the season. On the other end, Emerance Maschmeyer turned away 25 shots for Vancouver (3-1-1-7, 12 points).
In a thrilling shootout showdown, Katerina Mrazova’s decisive goal propelled the Ottawa Charge to a 2-1 triumph over the Boston Fleet in PWHL competition on Sunday. Fanuza Kadirova and Brianne Jenner also found the back of the net in the shootout for Ottawa (3-4-0-5, 17 points), while Hannah Brandt and Jamie Lee Rattray responded for league-leading Boston (7-0-2-2, 23 points). Susanna Tapani scored in regulation for Boston, notching her fourth goal of the season at 3:01 of the first period. Jenner equalized for Ottawa with her seventh goal at 6:48 of the third. Aerin Frankel, the goalie for Boston, made 17 saves, while Sanni Ahola of Ottawa stopped 31 shots.
