They were outplayed by Kazakhstan’s Anna Danilina and Serbia’s Aleksandra Krunic, losing in a tight match with a score of 7-6 (2), 3-6, 6-4. Despite initially leading in the final set at 3-1, Dabrowski and Stefani struggled to maintain their advantage, eventually succumbing to their opponents’ strong performance.
The match saw both teams showcasing their skills, with Dabrowski and Stefani breaking on four out of eight opportunities and delivering four aces and two double faults. On the other hand, Danilina and Krunic capitalized on four out of six break chances, along with three aces and one double fault. The seventh-seeded duo also recorded 31 winners compared to their opponents’ 27.
Meanwhile, Aryna Sabalenka continued her dominant run at the Australian Open by defeating Elina Svitolina 6-2, 6-3 in the semifinals. The victory marked Sabalenka’s 10th consecutive win of the season, setting up a final clash against Elena Rybakina, who overcame Jessica Pegula in a closely contested match.
Sabalenka’s exceptional performance on the court was briefly interrupted by a hindrance call during the fourth game, but she quickly regained her composure to secure the win. With her remarkable consistency, Sabalenka has now reached her fourth consecutive singles final at the Australian Open, joining the ranks of Evonne Goolagong and Martina Hingis in the Open era.
Despite the loss, Svitolina displayed resilience throughout the tournament, making her way to the semifinals and reclaiming a spot in the top 10 rankings.
